Installation | How to Upgrade iPhone 2G 3G and iPod Touch 1G 2G

Installation Guide.

This tutorial provides all the instructions that you will need to install Whited00r to your device. Please remember that you are doing this at your own risk. Whited00r supports iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPod Touch 1G and iPod Touch 2G (both old BootRom MB and new BootRom MC versions). Please use the buttons below to select your device. Download the correct firmware corresponding to your computer's operating system in order to receive the correct instillation guide.

Download the firmware

The download page for your device will be opened in a new browser tab. Please read carefully all the informations provided in that download page, then continue reading this tutorial for Whited00r installation.

Prepare your device.

Open iReb and click on the button about your device. Follow the instruction provided by iReb. At the end of the process your device will be in Pwned DFU State with black screen.

Open Redsn0w and click on 'Extra' button and then on 'Pwned DFU'. Follow the instructions provided by Redsn0w. At the end of the process your device will be in Pwned DFU State with black screen.

Prepare your device.

Open iReb for MacOSX. This is a command line tool, so Terminal will show up when you click double click on iReb. You should see 'Waiting for DFU mode...' message. Follow the instruction provided in the video on the right to set your iPod Touch 2G in DFU mode until you can see the 'steaks4uce sent & executed successfully' message in the Terminal.

Prepare your device.

1) Use iTunes to install Official Firmware 3.1.2. Click on Restore while holding ALT / Option key (⌥) on your keyboard and select the firmware (.ipsw) from you computer. Download Original Firmwares

2) iTunes will give a 1015 error caused by the downgrade. To proceed use Recboot clicking on the 'Exit Recovery' button. You device will boot correctly. Recboot

3) Use Blackra1n to jailbreak your device (in order to set it in a Pwned state). Open Blackra1n and click on 'Make it Rain'. After the reboot your device will be ready for Whited00r installation. Blackra1n

Prepare your device.

1) Use iTunes to install Official Firmware 3.1.2. Click on Restore while holding SHIFT key (⇧) on your keyboard and select the firmware (.ipsw) from you computer. Download Original Firmwares

2) iTunes will give a 1015 error caused by the downgrade. To proceed use iReb. Move to 'Recovery Mode Loop Fixer' tab and click on 'Set auto-Boot True' button. You device will boot correctly. iReb

3) Use Blackra1n to jailbreak your device (in order to set it in a Pwned state). Open Blackra1n and click on 'Make it Rain'. After the reboot your device will be ready for Whited00r installation. Blackra1n

Install Whited00r with iTunes.

Click on Restore while holding SHIFT key (⇧) on your keyboard and select the Whited00r Software Update (.ipsw) from you computer.

Install Whited00r with iTunes.

Click on Restore while holding ALT / Option key (⌥) on your keyboard and select the Whited00r Software Update (.ipsw) from you computer.

Complete the installation.
